We're writing to share something genuinely new. Beginning January 1, 2027, federal law gives every taxpayer a dollar-for-dollar tax credit of up to $1,700 per year for donations to approved scholarship organizations. In plain terms: money you would have paid in federal taxes anyway can instead fund scholarships for students in our community, and you receive the full amount back as a credit on your tax return.
Our school has partnered with the K-12 Scholarship Foundation, a nonprofit that handles all of it: the sign-up, the processing, the eligibility checks, and the federal compliance. By law, at least 90 cents of every dollar becomes scholarships. There is no cost to our school, and participating takes a few minutes online.
When you contribute, you may express a preference for the St. Brigid Academy community. All scholarships are awarded by the Foundation under federal eligibility rules, which is exactly what keeps the program fair and protects every family.
What scholarships can support: tuition assistance, tutoring, books, technology, transportation, class trips, and equipment. Most families in our area are income-eligible to apply.

With thanks,

The federal credit is available beginning January 1, 2027 in participating states, for donors with sufficient federal tax liability. The K-12 Scholarship Foundation's federal tax-exempt status application is pending, and Scholarship Granting Organization listing occurs through each participating state.
